We make every effort to work the bugs out of the books before they go to press, but a few inevitably slip by. If you find an error, please write us at sa-book@admin.com.

We usually have the opportunity to make corrections before each printing of the book, so books from different printings are not exactly identical. To find out what errors are known to exist of in your particular copy of the book, you need to know which printing you have. This information can be found on the copyright page. Under the words "Printed in the United States of America" you should see a series of numbers (e.g., 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2). The last number shown is the printing. In this example, the book would be from the second printing.

If you have the THIRD edition of Unix System Administration Handbook (purple cover):
First printing Third printing
Second printing Fourth and higher printings

If you have the SECOND edition of Unix System Administration Handbook (red cover):

First printing Fourth printing Seventh printing
Second printing Fifth printing Eighth and higher printings
Third printing Sixth printing

If you have the FIRST edition of Linux Administration Handbook (green cover):

First printing

If your printing isn't shown, it probably means we haven't updated this web page recently; choose the highest-numbered printing in the list to see the closest approximation.
